Hey guys,

One of the venues we like can hold 2 weddings on the same day.. Wondering if anyone has dealt with this and how it turned out? Just a little nervous to have to share the hall with someone else due to music and stuff..

One of the venues that I was looking at did that. I was turned off because it might not have been a wedding. They also booked a lot of corporate meetings and events. Our guests are driving and flying in from all over, so I didn't want any confusion. Also, there will be a lot of alcohol flowing, so I didn't want them to have to wait in lines for the restrooms.

Our venue has four halls. Each hall has its own outdoor ceremony, own parking lot. We were nervous about that but went to a wedding there and didn't even notice the other weddings

Wendy C. I note you are a DJ. Are you opining as to only issue was wrt music. Because, with all due respect, there is a lot more to a wedding. Guests from one wedding sneaking drinks or appetizers from the other can be a problem.

The first venue we looked at held up to 3 weddings at the same time. I didn't like that so we chose a different venue. It's pretty common.

Soon2Be, I am guessing that the events you have been to at the venue did not serve liquor. I would take with venue. Are you having open bar? How do they prevent poachers.?

There is a possibility that one of the other rooms at my venue can be rented for a meeting or dinner. But we are the only wedding and no one else can have a DJ or anything like that.

One of the venues I was looking at can have up to 3 a day and 5 a weekend, which initially turned me off. However, it's a large ski resort so the ceremony and reception options are pretty far apart, and the wedding coordinators radio each other when they are shifting to a new location so that the brides/parties don't run into each other. They factor in which venues each bride wants, and sometimes based on location they will limit it to 2/day. The only place parties could run into each other would be the shared facilities (bar for after the reception, waterpark/other outdoor amenities if guests come earlier or stay a full day later).

I would definitely ask about the specific logistics though. Don't settle for "oh we've got it taken care of." No, you're paying a great deal for this and it's a once-in-a-lifetime moment
