Chose our venue before it was completely renovated. Now having a little wedding venue regret. Don’t love the low, drop ceilings. Worried it will mess up all the photos? Any tips on distracting from them - it will be right most of the reception - 5-9pm end of June.Venue Regret 1

    I guess you could drape them, but that's going to run to money, so if the budget's tight, you may not want to do that. Uplighting may also distract some.

    I expect, however, that you're going to discover your photographer knows how to minimize the ceiling in your photos. Additionally, I expect a lot of your pictures will be in front of those gorgeous windows!

    Definitely uplights! Cheap for a big effect. Here’s a before/after with a ceiling that looks like yours.

    Right?! That’s not our venue but we ordered cordless ones from RentMyWedding (free shipping both ways) for $25 each. A catering company wanted to charge us $95 each.

    Now I have to go back to my venue and inspect the ceilings, then check the DJ contract (it has something about lights in there somewhere LOLOLOL)

    Some venues come with uplighting (ours did).
    Check with your coordinator.

    I'm not sure if this has been said, but try ceiling draping if possible. It can cover things you do not like in an beautiful way.
