So last week I had posted that FH and I couldn't decide on a venue, we were going at it (not like angry but like giving each other's opinion) he wanted to go all inclusive vs me I wanted a venue only location that will cost us $2,550 on a Thursday. So last week I had posted that FH and I couldn't decide on a venue, we were going at it (not like angry but like giving each other's opinion) he wanted to go all inclusive vs me I wanted a venue only location that will cost us $2,550 on a Thursday. Which includes the hall for 16 hours to set up, your ceremony included and table + chairs plus bridal, groom suite, and our choice of vendors. And I won! He agreed that doing it this way we might be able to save money. His grandparents used to have a catering company so they're doing the catering for us so that helps out a lot. Now that we've decided on the venue we just gotta get other estimates. Now my question is what are the pros / cons of going just venue only vs all inclusive? Any pointers? What should I be mostly scared of?

The one thing i really enjoyed about my all inclusive venue, is the lower stress level. I didnt have to worry about coordinating several different vendors. The venue handled that for me, and since they had working relationships with almost all the vendors everything went smoothly.

We are doing venue only. Ours includes the use of the kitchen, table and chairs. We get the venue starting @ 3 the day before all the way through the Sunday after. We get to bring in our own food and alcohol. I was looking at venues that would be all inclusive and they were about 2-3 times the cost of what we ate going to be paying. I am just glad I have all this time to get things done so I get a stress free wedding.

Th only thing about our venue only is that we have to use their preferred bartender.

Our venue is a la carte, so we can customize more than a lot of other places that had specific wedding packages. I feel like it is a nice compromise, and only has ended up being about $1-2K more than the least expensive venue we found (that one was all inclusive). If you love the venue and can afford the venue and catering separate, then go for it! If your venue does not include alcohol, what is nice about bringing it in is that you can take home any leftovers Smiley winking

All is inclusive is *easy*. If you're a micromanager, this won't be the option for you, but I just wanted to be *married*, so getting my ceremony site, reception venue, chairs, tables, linens, etc, etc, all in one bundle, plus a list of their preferred vendors-- it was like one-stop-shopping, and was perfect for me.

AdoreTamm I'm also doing the same thing as you- as long as you have a coordinator you are totally fine. and it is saving me money as well. in my area none of the all inclusive were affordable to us.
