So, in the hectic midst of checking out a gazillion venues and (mainly) looking for all-inclusive package deals in my area... my fiancé and I have finally stumbled across one that just engrossed us so much, I thought it was too good to be true. I mean, come on! You're meaning to tell me that I have found an outstanding outdoor-based venue that provides in-house coordination, set-up & clean-up, deep closets of decor, ambiance and amenities, personable staff, the WHOLE enchilada ladies! And it all comes at the price of $15, 200 if we chose to have our wedding date on a weekday (Mon-Thru). Now, my question for you guys...seeing as I don't really know what "fair budgets" would entail, do you guys think this would be a good deal for me? Oh, and on top of everything they include~. They DON'T CHARGE SERVICE FEES (i.e. cake cutting, etc.) I'm just trying to get votes here because my parents are very tight penny pinchers (unreasonably tight), and I want them to understand how amazing this offer is from a wide variety of perspectives. If you guys would be willing to give me feedback or advice with this matter, I would really appreciate it! - Kate xx.

So food and alcohol is included? If so I would say it’s perfect if not then I think it’s overpriced.

That's what I thought too! But, I am thinking that instead of getting married on a Thursday for our destination wedding (five hours away), I might move it to that Friday instead. It'll be $20, 200 without gratuity included but I think we'll have more people attend that way.

Yes ma'am! But I don't think we'll be serving alcohol only because we're not really drinkers, instead I think we'll settle with serving refreshment type beverages (i.e. sun tea, freshly squeezed lemonade, iced water, etc). It's more of a personal preference, I suppose.

You can let them know that. Sunday weddings are are reasonably priced too. I’m having a Sunday wedding which was a real good deal. Check and see if a venue offers Sunday wedding. You may come out a little less.

Looks like food is included, alcohol would be an extra fee.

Okay, that’s not bad still! We’re doing Sunday 2:308 pm because my ENTIRE family lives an hour and a half away and most of the other guests are within an hour of the venue so they can still go to work the next day/ don’t require a hotel and those who have to come to the rehearsal also will not be missing work. It was also cheaper to do it on a Sunday for us.

WOW. If the venue includes the food & so many extras (DJ, lighting, tables & flatware/linens) then this sounds like a great deal for up to 100 guests. Yesssssss, how could you NOT say "YES" to the s'mores bar??? Moral imperative.

Just an idea... as a guest I LOVE cake. Cupcakes are yummy too. I'd be a little disappointed with pie.

That's what I'm saying! Hopefully I'll have a good turnout for a Thursday night though. It's five hours away but hopefully that won't discourage relatives, haha! And I just found out that the s'mores bar is $1 per person. If anything, I'll just bring my own supplies and set up a table by the fire pit if necessary. Easy peasy! And yes, cupcakes for the win!

A Thur wedding may discourage some guests who can't afford two days off work + hotel costs. Have you researched hotels and pricing? Putting that info on your wedding website may help.

    Yay for cupcakes!

I haven't researched any of that yet. I'm still trying to pick between Thursday or Friday for the official date. There's roughly a $5,000 difference between the two considering Friday is a more popular date for weddings, you know? And I was actually planning on either having the overnight information on the save-the-date cards or the wedding website like you said. Just so they'll have easy access at all times.

Okay. This actually sounds pretty good now that you've clarified. Make sure you see all your meal options ahead of time. Word of advice, once you've got your venue, go directly to booking your photographer. The good ones always get booked fast, from there if you want to book your videographer.

Would it be cheaper to go with the venue's recommended photographer? I believe the cost was $3, 000 for them as an add-on. I don't quite remember the specifics.

Can you see the recommended photographer's work to make sure you like it?

If it makes sense for you, I say go for it, photographers here can go for 3k easy and getting one that already knows the venue means they know all the best shot locations!

No. My photographers cost $1500. They are a husband and wife team, so technically I have two of them. Do your research first before you book with the site photographer. This is very important: you want to find someone who you are both comfortable with because that is going to show In the quality of your pictures. My advice also comes as someone who has done print modeling. It really makes a huge difference when you are totally comfortable with your photographer.

To me 15,000 sounds like a lot. It might be regional though. It sounds great though! Less stressed and easy planning. I agree a weekend wedding will get you a better turnout. I'd probably prefer to go ahead and do that. There's nothing wrong with a more intimate party wedding, but 15,000 for a small group seems steep.

I thought it was too good to be also for my all inclusive venue! And I even straight up asked manager if there are going to be any surprises when it comes to the final payments. We get to pick between 2-3 vendors for each category and he said the only time there will be any additional charges on my contract is if we ask for upgrades to the menu, additional guests over 100 people, additional flowers on top of what’s included, additional things like a photo booth included with the dj, etc. We have our contract and read through everything and there aren’t going to be surprises.
