Venue address on invitation??

Stacey, on July 14, 2018 at 9:59 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

I feel like I live on this forum these days, who knew invitations could be so tricky?! If your ceremony and reception are at the same venue are you putting the full address of the venue on the invitation itself? We've been working with a designer and originally we were only going to have the name, city and state on the invitation and the full address on the accommodations card (venue is also our room block hotel). We are also listing our wedding website on the accommodations card which will have detailed driving directions, is this enough or should I add the full address?

My venue and accommodations are the same situation as yours. I'm putting the full address minus the zip code on my invitation.

Why minus the zip code? Does it look better?
I'm just wondering since we're about to do ours. We're not having an accommodation card.

The address does go on there but not the zip code. I actually had this question the other day.

Our stationer suggested only the city and state on the invitation and the full address on the details card. It definitely would have been more crowded on the invite if we put it on there.

I may be in a minority here but I only port the name of the venue at the city/state. The full address for the venue is on our website and it’s a pretty distinctive name so is very easy to google Smiley smile as a final note, it just looked nicer that way.

We only put the name of the venue and city and state. Our invites are very formal though and our stationary person told us more formal invites are done that way.

Ours are formal as well and that was what I thought was the norm. Thanks! They are also landscape and the street name is long so I am worried it will look weird. lol

That is what we were planning on doing, but I started freaking out because although the venue is pretty well known, it has a similar name to a popular hotel chain. I would hope people would Google it with the city and state (the chain is not in this city!), but you never know.

We put the full address on our invitations because we didn't include any detail cards. There are quite a few guests attending who are completely lost with computers so we figured putting the full address would just be easier for them!

Our invites are formal and we are only listing the venue, city and state. No address
    will be on the invite.
