I go in for my first real alterations appointment tomorrow and I'm losing my shit in a way i havent over any damn thing in this wedding. I am sitting here crying about this and i feel crazy.

i look at pics of my dress online and i feel like i am nuts. its literally NOTHING that i wanted. why the hell did i pick that dress? the more i think about it, the more i realize i caved to pressure from my mom and sales consultants. I had tried on other dresses i loved, but my moms reactions made me feel so pressured. The waist is too low, its ivory (i wanted a fully blush dress) the neckline is shapeless and unflattering. The shop claims all of this can be corrected - we can add blush tulle, alter the waistline and neck.

But I just want to throw up when I think about the amount of money spent on a dress i absolutely hate. the bodice will still be shapeless and ivory and covered in ugly, cheap looking lace, and ill be paying probably 600 in alterations. Anyone else have this issue? Smiley sad

Leave it to wedding wire to make me feel about a gazillion times better! Thanks for the kind words, guys. I think I really am just over thinking this - my seamstress is amazing and yea..the pressure for the "perfect" dress gets a bit absurd sometimes.

It's really a beautiful dress, and I think you can probably do a lot with alterations to make it feel more like you! Seamstresses can do some truly magical things, lol.

I can't wait to see what it looks like. The dress is already very beautiful, but the alterations will be stunning!

I;m sorry to hear you're not feeling good about it.. but WOWZA that dress is stunning!!!!

I totally second the advice to stop looking at stock photos.

I actually didn't like my dress at all when I saw the pictures of models wearing it. When I tried it on myself, I was in love!!!! It looked so much better on me! (IFFF I do say so myself! lol)

You're going to look amazing! Even just the addition of the blush will make such a huge difference. It's super common though, I was panicking that my dress was unflattering and would be too dark (it's champagne) but at your fitting it all comes together Smiley smile

Yes, so I lost $450 (half of what I paid for the first one) and got a different dress. It was worth it to me.

I just saw your edits and I freaking LOVE the after version! It's going to be amazing!
