Venice vs Tuscany?

Hi everyone. FH and I are looking at honeymoon locations and we'd really like to go to Italy and stay in Northern Italy. We're limited to a couple locations because his parents are paying for the honeymoon and we can only choose from certain hotels. What are the pros and cons of staying in Venice vs Tuscany? Is it possible to do excursions to Rome or is it too far away? I've never been to Italy or Europe, so I'd love to know what your experiences are! Thanks!

    Never been to Italy but I've heard AMAZING things about Venice from friends who just got back from their honeymoon in Venice

    You're kind of limited in Venice, because it's not on the mainland. Florence was my favorite place in Italy, so I vote for Tuscany. Capri is gorgeous, too, but again you're on an island. It would be good for a 2-day trip.

    I've been to Florence twice and absolutely love it. It's a better location for day trips to other cities than Venice is too.

    Tuscany! Florence is amazing and you can take trips out to the smaller towns and do wine and food tours! Venice is cool to spend a day at but honestly it's very touristy so it's not very romantic for long periods in my opinion.

    Hi all, thanks for the suggestions! I think we're choosing Tuscany since we do want a super relaxing honeymoon and we both really love wine and mountains! We will try to take day trips to other cities!
