On September 14th I met with a local florist who had wonderful reviews. I emailed her before that to set up a consultation at noon. My fiancé and I show up there at noon and there door is locked... Bad first impression. So I call her and she says she was on lunch and would be on her way.

When she arrives she asks various questions and what my budget is. I told her $600, because flowers are not that important to me. So she tallies everything up and tells me that it costs $1,100 so far without the ceremony flowers. I understand that my budget is tight for flowers, but she should've worked within it. I was annoyed that she went so far over, another red flag. So my fiancé and I agreed to raise our budget and we finalized what we wanted and paid a $400 deposit. She said she would email me tomorrow with the receipt and contract. Well tomorrow came and no email. I emailed her a few days later and asked about the receipt and she said she was busy and would email it in a few days. (Continued..

    The red flags that I saw were, she wasn't on time for the appointment, she didn't work within the budget (op didn't mention what she wanted for her $600). The florist wasn't timely in getting the contract over, which is something that should have been immediate. Personally, I would have been outta there the minute she failed to show up on time. Weddings are stressful enough without worrying about one of your vendors coming through.

    This would rub me wrong too, although your having a difficult time getting your deposit back. Im glad its not your wedding day, who knows if she'd be late or not show up at all.
