I met with the banquet today and they said its at my discretion, they don't price separately and it would have to be added to my guest count so they would be served a plate. What is your experience with this, which vendors did you serve? Banquet is saying Photogs and DOC but Im thinking maybe DJ as well?

LOL OMG cant I just order them a pizza? LBVS No but seriously it would be about another $250 added on for just vendor meals. (Only one vendor has it in the contract that she needs to be fed and thats the DOC.)

I gave my vendors meal choices and my DJ declined. So, you definitely need to offer, but they may not need to eat. But that's not my choice.

We asked our DOC about this at our last meeting and she said they provide a meal to vendors and they have a separate area set aside for them to eat. It isn't the same meal that we are serving, but they still get a meal and we don't pay as much to feed them as we do for guests.

Lol @ Mrs Fall Bride I love reading your responses! I found it odd that they were leaving out the dj as well and I kept saying he will be fed. Hell be with all day. Thanks for the advice I will def bring up that the vendors will not be taking part in the cocktail hour or bar.

Pfft, $250? I'm jealous. Mine will be about $500 and my vendor meals are half-priced. We booked a semi-inclusive venue, and the banquet manager told us about the vendor meals (children under 12 are half-price too) when we toured the space.

DJ, 2 (maybe 3) photogs, 2 cinematographers, 3 DOCs, officiant and her husband, photobooth attendant. I have to double-check if the officiant and her husband will attend the reception.

We just found out they'll be eating in a separate room, and they will get the same meals as our guests.

I never thought about feeding the vendors until WW. I budgeted for them like I did for the guest but I just contacted the venue to see if they get a discount or anything.

This is something I never thought about before planning a wedding that feels like such an "oh duh" moment!!

Think through all of your vendors who will be there throughout the reception and make sure they all have a meal! For me that was the dj/band, photographer and 2nd shooter, videographer and 2nd shooter, officiant (who was also a guest), and my wedding planner and her assistant.

While you're figuring out vendor meals it's also a good time to talk with your vendors about when they want / need to eat! My photographer was very upfront about how we were scheduling the timeline of our reception in terms of toasts and dances, and them being able to eat without missing any critical moments!
