Veils...

Fia, on June 7, 2019 at 1:12 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
I purchased a finger tip veil when I purchased my dress...but I am having veil regret because I seeing photographs with longer veils in the air or around the newlyweds, and I love the photos I'm seeing. I think I'm going to order a longer one for the ceramony and pictures and am thinking I'll wear the finger tip veil for the reception...Thoughts? Should I wear the fingertip veil for the reception or are veils only for ceramonies?

I think the veil during reception would get in the way because you'd be moving around a lot more.

I think it's up to you. I have a cathedral veil that I'm wearing only for the ceremony and photos but taking off for the reception. I have a friend who wore her fingertip veil during the ceremony and reception because it's much easier to deal with all night than a cathedral veil!

I have heard from a few people that hugging will rip your veil off, so that would be a consideration.

The same exact thing happened to me! I bought a cathedral length veil about 2 months ago from Amazon, mainly for the great pictures lol.
I plan to wear the fingertip veil for our first look, switch to the cathedral length for the ceremony and pictures afterwards, then put the fingertip back on for the grand entrance. I'm not keeping the veil on all evening so I think I'll take it off after dinner; if I don't get annoyed with it before then lol.

I think the fingertip veil would be a great stand in for any reception photos where you’d like to have your veil on. The only thing I was kind of old school about is that I like the look of a veil on when cutting the cake. My veil was cathedral and we cut the cake so late in the night that that look wasn’t happening for me. 😂 But if you like that look in photos and already have the fingertip veil, perhaps wear the fingertip veil for first dance, cake cutting, toasts and then you can pop it off when it’s time to dance! 😁

I'm doing the same thing! Cathedral veil for the ceremony, and a waltz length for the reception. If it gets annoying, I'll take it off, but I want the option to have it for photos.
