Veils - Keeping them in your hair

Fdranda, on July 31, 2017 at 3:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Is there a secret to keeping a veil on a comb in your hair? I noticed at the last wedding I attended the bride had issues with hers.

I think a professional hair stylist should be able to do this. Also I've heard of the stylist showing a bridesmaid how to do it as well just in case.

I got married in a snow storm with a cathedral veil and I had no issue with it. My stylist put three pins in each side.

I had no issues with mine - it stayed put until I was ready to take it out.

I agree with PP - a professional hair stylist should be able to get any veil to stay in place, OR tell a bridesmaid how to do it properly (if you're not putting on your veil until the last second).

Mine got flung across the dance floor while I was doing my father/daughter dance and my uncle stepped in. Definitely wish I thought of this earlier!

I agree with @MrsFallBride! I actually have professionally done brides' wedding hair before and the X booby pin method is EXACTLY how I secured in the ladies' veils !

I'd say have whoever is doing your hair, do a trial run @ your home where you can rock the veil around for an hour or so and see your comfort level with the pins in place and weight of the veil.

    Good luck girl!

I didn’t have any issues with my comb and I didn’t use bobby pins to keep it in. I had an updo, so I just wedged the comb between two curls. It didn’t move an inch all night.
