Veil with outdoor ceremony ?

wifeytobejuly17, on February 27, 2017 at 2:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

Wedding is in July , outside in a park garden. I want a veil cos I think it really made the dress when I put one on in the store- but- I feel like I'm risking spending $ on something that may fly all over the place In the wind , get annoying, smack my FH in the face, etc. I'm clearly over thinking this lol- but please give suggestions - what are all you outdoor ceremony brides doing !!??

Hope and Pray it's not super windy! Ummm.... worse comes to worse have your maid of Honor hold it down if it starts to get windy during the ceremony. That's what's I'm planning on doing if it comes to that on my wedding day. I say get a veil. Because if you don't and it doesn't happen to be windy you may regret not having one to finish the look. Hope this helped a little bit

Get weights sewn into the veil, they are about the weight of coins. It could also be your "something old".

If its a long veil---you shouldn't have issues with it. if you are worried about it have some weights sewn in, they wont be visible. or as someone suggested, have your MOH hold it down/step on it if its long. My veil is cathedral length and have a heavy lace on the end so I don't think it will move much in the wind- but if so ill have my MOH put her toes on the edge of it..

I wore an elbow length veil to my outdoor ceremony in October - I think it moved a little bit as I walked, but it pretty much stayed in place otherwise. I think you should be able to get away with it - do you have a length in mind?

I've been to a ton of outdoor weddings where the bride wears a veil and have never noticed any issues! If it ends up being super windy on your wedding day you can always choose to not wear it, but don't stress yourself out about something you won't know until the wedding day! Smiley smile
