Veil rules?!

Amanda, on February 2, 2015 at 12:32 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Just curious if there is such a thing.

My dress is a sottero and midgley-Danica in diamond white with pewter accents in a tulle ball gown. The bodice is covered with swavorski crystals and is fairly flashy.

I'm starting to think about veils now. I'd live to have a massively long 2 tier cathedral veil. No crazy sparkle to it. Rather plain long tulle. Just wondering if it will be too much? What do you think? Here is a link to the dress. Mine will be like the one in the vid, minus the halter straps.

I wanted a long plain veil as well, and I couldn't justify the cost, so I made it! Super easy to make if you want a plain one Smiley smile

I don't think there are really any rules. If there are, I haven't heard of them. I think you should just try some different things on with the dress and see what feels/looks right. If you choose to go with a plain cathedral length, you can find plain ones on ebay for fairly cheap I believe.

I think that dress would look great with a cathedral veil. I actually think it's the only thing that suits that dress unless you were going to do a simple hair piece or maybe a birdcage. I don't see a fingertip length being enough for that dress.

Thanks so much! I do think the cathedral veil is the best way to go with this dress. Just wasn't sure if there were some veil rules out there something that I'd be breaking lol and yes, I'm ordering off of eBay. Super cheap. It's like $30! Delivery included. I love eBay for this wedding! We've ordered tons of stuff already lol

Definitely think you should try some veils on with your dress. I originally wanted a bird cage...but ended up with a cathedral length with some glitz around the edges
