Veil Quality

gratia01, on December 23, 2019 at 5:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Has anyone tried ordering a veil from Amazon or somewhere similar? Or trying to DIY it? I tried on some gorgeous veils at the bridal shop where I bought my dress, but they're so expensive I was wondering if anyone else had found a way around spending $200+ on their veils!

Etsy or Amazon all the way! I was highly disappointed with the David's Bridal selection - expensive with no real quality. I'm getting mine custom made by a nice lady on Etsy - Blanca Veils.

I bought 2 veils, both around 20 each. I couldn't decide which way I wanted to go with my veil so I ordered 2 of them. One from amazon and one from Etsy. I'm happy with both and still haven't decided which one I like more and I probably won't until I try my dress on.

I bought a $8.00 veil on Amazon that is nicer than anything I tried on at David's Bridal. It was exactly what I was looking for.

I bought a $15 one on Amazon and it isn't as good as the $500 one at the bridal store, but it's actually really good quality. It's softer than the one at the bridal store. I brought it to my fitting to try on and the sales rep kept saying how nice it was. The only reason I say it's not as good as the $500 one is because I wish it was a little bit wider.

While the veil that was ordered with my dress is beautiful and matches well, I wish I had looked around for a cheaper option. It seems silly to have paid that much.

I actually ended up getting mine on ebay. It cost 3 dollars. I ended up finding a coupon so i got it free lol. Its so pretty and i love it. I didn't stress about it cause if i didn't like it, i don't feel like i waste any money. You can always check there.

Etsy! I got mine from Bridals by Teri. Other brides here have mentioned Blanca Veils.

Amazon might be hit or miss. I got two ($15 each) shoulder-length ones for my local reception. One was crap (kids’ costume quality), the other was ok for photos but not great. Would not buy a veil from Amazon again.

I'm making my ballet length veil with crystal and pearl beading. I've spent a total of $4.53 on it.

I purchased mine off of Etsy for about $30. Looks just as good or better than those at bridal stores.

I personally spent like $350 on my veil (it's a cathedral veil and I love it so much haha) but one of my best friends bought her veil on Amazon and it was gorgeous! The only recommendation she had for me is to get something that is weighted (so make sure it has beads or some stitching on the outside to kind of weigh it down) because all the ones she ordered off Amazon that weren't weighted sat really funny and wouldn't stay looking nice!

Have you tried FB Group for used veils? I have seen some that are as low as $20. My friend gave me her veil, so it's FREE. My other friend's mom is a seamstress, so her mom made her veil.
