Veil or no?

Jocelyn, on July 11, 2019 at 3:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21
Hi all!! I am getting married in an outdoor ceremony next March. When I initially started planning my wedding day look I was sure I didn’t want a veil, but during my wedding dress shopping when the saleswoman put the veil on it seemed to complete the look.
With the hairstyle I posted and how much detail is already in the back of my dress I’m just wondering what kind of veil would be best or if I should stick with my original idea of no veil

What I think would be really great is a plain cathedral veil, if you like it being that long. I didn’t think I would want a veil, or a long one at that, but I tried on dresses that had ornate trains like this and the look of a plain cathedral veil over it is really beautiful. I think you should try one on and see if you like it! If you go the veil route at all, I would keep it plain since your dress is so detailed.

I wasn’t going to wear one either... until I tried one on! I think a one-tier sheer veil, sweep or chapel length would look beautiful without taking away from your dress. I ordered a sweep length veilfor about $35 from Etsy seller Bridals by Teri. Really soft!

I agree that a plain cathedral veil would look beautiful with this dress. I love how cathedral veils add romance and drama to the overall bridal look.

I think a cathedral-length veil would be absolutely perfect, and would complete the whole "look". You could find a rather cute and simplistic one on Etsy for about $25-30. Which is relatively cheap for any veil, much less, a cathedral one.

I agree with all the above, a plain cathedral veil would look beautiful and complete the look. The best option is to try on the veil with the dress and hairstyle you chose to decide whether or not you want to commit to a veil.

You could do a finger length veil. In my opinion it would be just long enough and not interfere with the nice detail of the back of your dress.

I agree with a cathedral length veil for this look! I was in the same boat, no veil until I tried it on and it completed the look!

I have a slightly similar dress that is skimpy on top with a layered horsehair tulle skirt. They suggested a sparkly headpiece that is like a headband that is limp that you can pin however you like but she gave me a very light small veil that didnt take away from the dress. I'll just pin it under a high bun or something.
