Veil or no veil?

Sydney, on January 22, 2023 at 5:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I am stuck on if I should wear a veil with my dress or not, or if I should do a shorter fingertip veil or longer if I do decide to wear one. I am thinking about doing a “barely there” veil with no gather and about 120 inches, or a barely there fingertip veil. If you were me, would you let the dress shine without the veil, or would it add something to it? I would only wear it for some pictures and the ceremony, and take it off for the reception. The veil pictured is with gathers and 108 inches. We are getting married in an old church with lots of tile/arches/stone. Does anyone have a similar dress, and would you mind sharing what you decided to do with a veil? Smiley smileVeil or no veil? 1

That dress is stunning!!! It has a beautiful shape, and I love the sleeves! I think you could either do the veil or skip it. Either way, the dress shines.

My dress was somewhat similar, in the way of dress shape and a long detailed train. Here's what my dress looked like without the veil:Veil or no veil? 5
I initially was going to do a fingertip veil that had beading along the edges, but ended up with a cathedral veil that was sparkly. Here's what the dress and veil looked like together (not the best angle of the train and veil, but this is the best non-professional photo that I have of it):Veil or no veil? 6
I loved having the veil, and we took some photos with it, and some without it. If you have it in your budget and if you feel like you'd regret not having a veil, I think it's worth it! If justifying the cost is the only factor standing in the way, you can find cheaper veils that are either pre-owned on Facebook Marketplace (or Facebook wedding resale groups), or even new on Amazon. Otherwise, go with the look (veil or no veil) that you feel the best with.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of veils! They add so much to the look, and they create a great element for photos! Mine had lace appliques down the sides, and the bottom had a floral lace border that extended past the train of my dress. It was gorgeous for our ceremony and pictures afterwards, then I took it off for the reception when my dress got bustled.

I was so against a veil and opting for a cape. Then my MIH talked me into trying one on. I tried o. A cathedral length drake and I fell on love. I think it will accentuate your dress especially the mermaid style.Veil or no veil? 11

I think a waltz length veil would be ideal since it wouldn't cover over the gorgeous lace
