Veil or no veil

Ashley, on February 20, 2020 at 1:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34
I have a long train, and can’t decide on the length of veil to choose or just no veil at all. I plan to wear my hair up and have the lace topper sewn inside the dress. I’m 4’9” bare foot. I also plan to have floral comb. Opinions are greatly appreciated because I’m terrible at making decisions when it comes to attire. Veil or no veil 1

I would go with no veil for your gown. A hair comb sounds nice

I wouldn't do a long veil. Probably nothing below fingertip at the longest.

If you're doing in store shopping, take your dress and try several different ones.

I would do a fingertip length veil since your train has such gorgeous detail!

I am team veil and would do a finger tip that goes into the dress train. That is what I did.

I would go with either no veil or a fingertip one at the longest. The back of your dress and long train is so beautiful, I would never want to cover it.

I would do a plain raw edge cathedral veil so it doesn't distract from the details but makes it a total bridal look.

Do you think the veil should be longer than the dress in that scenario?

Do you know what length of train your dress is?
If doing raw edge I wouldn't have it going past the edges of the dress too much.

I don’t know how long the train is, but I’m 55inches tall, and if I had to guess my train is 30in or more. My dress is with the alterations lady. So that’s 85inches from top of head to train

I would check the style online- it should say in the description. It looks like it's the same length as mine and mine is a chapel length train. I am doing a chapel length veil.

I say no veil. Your dress has so much going on already. I think a veil would be too much.

Even if it was elbow length and sheer? I found one that’s pretty sheer, however, it’s 30 inches long and that’s closer to butt length on me. I’m wondering if I could have it shortened

My dress was all about the back! So I took a very different approach. I wore a veil for photos (because I love a good veil photo!), but I did not wear it for my ceremony. So that is another option for you.
Did you try on any veils with your dress at the bridal boutique?

I was pretty against a veil in the beginning mostly bc step mom and mother of the groom, said I HAD to wear one. That’s the quickest way to make me not want to do something. But now it’s been several months, and the idea of a veil for pictures and the ceremony seem nice. I would take it off during the reception bc I like to party lol

I would do a shorter veil. IMO, the veil completes the look.

Your dress is gorgeous! I would do a simple, short, and very sheer veil. That will give you the bridal feeling of a veil without taking away from your dress.

A lot of veils you can order custom length. That is what I did for mine. It didn't cost any extra.

I would go with a fingertip veil, so your train can still be the wow factor.
