Veil or no veil?

Initially, the idea of a veil never crossed my mind because it's not me at all, but then I got thinking... The thing about a veil is that it feels like I'm wearing a costume, it's religious and I'm not, and it symbolises virginity and who are we kidding - this is my second marriage. I feel that...
Initially, the idea of a veil never crossed my mind because it's not me at all, but then I got thinking... The thing about a veil is that it feels like I'm wearing a costume, it's religious and I'm not, and it symbolises virginity and who are we kidding - this is my second marriage. I feel that walking down the aisle with my face covered is going to feel belittling. Does anyone else share any of these opinions, or wish to share a different view?

Same here. I tried on a few veils, it made me uncomfortable so I wore a hair piece. Just do what makes you feel comfortable.

I’m not doing a veil at all. i’m doing a flower crown, i don’t love veils and they’re just not me so i don’t feel the need to wear one just for tradition sake.

Yeah I think the same way! Initially I didn’t want a veil but my mom convinced me a light, flowy sheer one would be nice. I will not have it in front of my face though, just under my updo, I think it will really make me feel like a bride😊

I didn't wear a veil during the ceremony but I did bring one for pictures. For the ceremony part, it just didnt feel right to me to have one, mainly because like you said, it felt too much like wearing a costume. It also felt like to much to just be standing there with. I am glad I bought one just for the pictures though.

Thank you all so much for your comments. You've all raised some really good points. At this point I have to say that I am considering bypassing it, and perhaps just attaching one for some pretty photos. Congratulations to you all!

You can do a drop veil like Kate Middleton, who was wearing a tiara the day of her wedding

I wasn't going to do a bowl, but someone on here pointed it's pretty much the only day on your life you will get a chance to wear one. I am doing one that I'll come from underneath my updo
