Veil or no veil...first look, portraits and ceremony?

MrsBeetoBe, on December 10, 2016 at 3:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hi everyone, I'm new here! My name is Meghan and I'm getting married in Charlottesville, VA next October.

I've got the dress, so now I'm looking at veils. Found what style I like, so I'm wondering during what portions of the wedding activities you guys wore yours. Timeline will be wedding party photos, first look, B&G portraits, family photos, ceremony, extended family photos, sunset B&G portraits.

I was thinking of doing no veil for the first look and making a statement with the veil for the ceremony, but I absolutely love portraits of the B&G with the veil on. Will it be too cumbersome to do a lot of on, off, on, off with the veil?

I only wore mine for the ceremony and formal portraits immediately following. I had a long veil so I didn't want to wear it around and carry it or worry about people stepping on it. Depending on how you do your hair it might not be easy to take it on and off constantly so that's something to think about.

I wore mine until it was time to eat. I'd had enough of it by then.

I did not wear mine for the first look. I wore it for the formal photos and like half of the b&g and BP photos, I took it off halfway through because it was annoying.

I'll wear mine during ceremony and for some of the formal pictures. That's enough for me. I think it'll bug me.
