Veil on or off for first dance

Erica, on September 28, 2019 at 12:24 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I have a cathedral style veil so beautiful but I’m not sure if I should wear it for my first dance because it’s long. Did you wear yours? Did it bother you? Please help lol

also, did you wear it for pictures ? Or do half with some and some without ?

I would take it off. Feels like it'd get in the way

Unless you’re holding it, you would have a really hard time dancing without tripping over it. And even then you wouldn’t get to see how pretty the veil is. So I wouldn’t wear it for your first dance. For pictures, definitely. You’ll get plenty of pictures at the reception without it.

Most people have the veil off right after the ceremony or halfway through cocktail hour (pictures)!

I took my veil off after the ceremony as soon as we were done with pictures. Mine was only fingertip length but it was still getting in the way.

Mine is fingertip length but I still plan on taking it off before the reception. I couldn't imagine trying to move around on a dancefloor with a cathedral length and not get it snagged.

I wore a cathedral veil for ceremony and photos. I took it off just before we were introduced and first dance (which was before dinner service). We did take some romantic sunset photos after eating and I didn’t even think to put it back on for those but also don’t think it was necessary for those particular photos.

My veil was a cathedral length which I wore for some of the first look photos and during the ceremony. My brother walked me down the aisle and tripped on my veil at the chuppah, so I definitely didn't wear it for the first dance with my groom!

I’m planning to take off my veil for my entrance into the reception.
