Veil for first look and bridal party/family photos?

Lynne, on November 27, 2020 at 3:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Hey all - I have a cathedral veil, which I can imagine can get a little tricky during group photos. Did you wear your veil for group photos or just the ceremony and pics with husband after the ceremony? Also thinking logistically, I’ll have to have my hair dresser stick around until right before the ceremony to put my veil in.

Also, any brides wear their hair down with a veil? How’d that work out?

I had a chapel length veil and I wore it for all of our posed photos. It was a little tricky because it was windy, but not any worse than my train.

Plan on wearing it for all the photos & take it off after. I want all those awesome pics! Will definitely take it off before the reception.

I had a cathedral veil and only wore it for family photos and our ceremony—took it off immediately after. We didn’t do any formal photos after the ceremony.

My hair was down with a halo headpiece. My MOH just kind of stuck the comb under the halo. I prefer a low veil so it was perfect for me!

I didn’t wear my cathedral veil for the first look or pre-wedding photos, as I didn’t want it to get torn, etc. before the ceremony and wanted my husband to first see me with the veil when walking down the aisle. I kept it on for our post-ceremony pics. I then took it off before the reception. My hairdresser showed my MOH and bridesmaids how they’d have to put in the veil and pin it so they were able to do it on-site.

I had a cathedral length veil and my mom put it in after we had done the "girls" pictures, before we went down to line up. Then I wore it for a series of photos with the whole family and with H, before we went back up to bustle my dress. When my dress was bustled, I took it off for the rest of the night.

I wore my veil for the entire ceremony, all the photos, and some of the reception! It wasn’t cathedral it was floor length, however I also had my hair down and I had zero issues. Veil for first look and bridal party/family photos? 1

I did not wear my veil for the first look or for formal or family photos. My hair dresser put it on about 45 minutes before the ceremony and I took it off immediately after the ceremony.

I had a cathedral length veil that I only wore for photos. I had no issues with it. Our photographers helped move and place it when needed.
