Veil advice!

Heather, on November 24, 2019 at 8:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 22

Veil advice! 1Veil advice! 2 This is the dress I bought but I’m trying to figure out what to do for a veil. I can’t really see her veil in this picture but I’m thinking of staying with 1 tier and keeping it pretty basic since my dress already has a lot of detail....I can’t remember what that’s called for a veil when it’s just simple with no additional detail. Also, do you think chapel length would fit well with this dress?

So that looks like a single tier tulle veil. I can't see how far that drops down, but my guess would be waltz length, down to about her knees, or floor. I've become a bit of a veil shopper, so let's see....You have a few options for a beautiful veil. Jjshouse has some nice one, but I've been working with Blanca Veils on etsy to customize one for me!

Amazon also has some pretty ones. I would say go for English net - its soft and will be pretty with that dress!

I say no to chapel length since you have a train already. Wouldn't do more than a waltz length. I bought mine from etsy from Alex bridal.

Thank you!! I was thinking knee or floor length too, so is that different from chapel? I honestly don’t know the different length names 😬 and is English net different from tulle?? I’m definitely looking on Amazon or Etsy!

Chapel will give you a little bit more length to go over your train, so it pools a little bit. Floor just skims your hem ideally. And cathedral is the royal ones that are almost a train themselves - normally very decorated and heavy!

English net is different from tulle - it's softer and a different weave. Definitely check Blanca! She has an english net with pictures so you can see that it gives you more of a dreamy feel than regular tulle. I learned way too much about veils trying to pick mine - Samantha was a gem to work with though and always super quick to answer questions.

Veil advice! 3 The various lengths. Waltz is "fingertip" length.

Yes, she is amazing! I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and no idea how to achieve it, and she was able to pull it together for me. You're welcome - good luck with the search!

I think cathedral and chapel are the same but don't quote me. I just learned names lol. My friend used blanca but Alex was more affordable for me lol. I am going mantilla style which I love. Simple with a bit of design I feel

I second Blanca veils. I love the sample pack that is order able that way you can match the color of the veil with your dress. I'm planning on ordering from Blanca once I decide on the length. I'm debating between fingertip or cathedral. I change my mind every other day. So I'm just waiting till it gets closer and then I have to make the decision lol.

I was thinking about doing that but I also thought I could go to the local bridal salon and try both lengths on there. See which one I like best. I know my FH prefers the fingertip. He seems to think I may trip over the cathedral one. Which knowing me is for sure a possibility lol

I got a fingertip with my dress, and I ended up not liking the length with my dress. Honestly, I think cathedral is really long- I bought one of those too and ended up realizing that there was too much material and not enough me! They're all gorgeous - it's just a matter of your venue, your dress, your personal preference.

Some sites i have seen waltz and fingertip length aren't the same. Salta is a bit longer. On blanca veils sites in her customized they are different. Waltz can be about knee length.

I love cathedral but your fh is right. I think i would trip too lol. I may trip on my dress lol. I am more worried that our ceremony will be outdoors so i don't want it to snag. I love the look of the length but decided on fingertip.

Me too. Like I love the idea of pictures with the cathedral length veil but my dress has a train already which will be enough to handle. So I'm leaning more towards fingertip just to make it easier to move around. I hate when he is right lol.

Veil advice! 4 My vote is for something like this! It has the 3D floral appliqués on the bottom to mirror the ones on the top without over powering the dress. I think these veils are so pretty and I wish they worked with my dress! I think floor length of chapel would work with your dress beautifully!

Thank you all for the wonderful tips! It sure helps and I greatly appreciate it!!! Sites like Blanca, amazon and Etsy seem to be worthwhile for my price range. My friend bought her veil for $600+ and said it was a good deal 😱 I don’t have that in my budget but I also don’t know how that’s a good deal for a piece of tulle? So I’m really glad you all recommended cost friendly sites!
