Vegas: Reception or no reception

Hi all! My FI and I were planning an destination wedding in Aruba but the cost was basically the same as a wedding in NJ where were from. We’re thinking about doing a wedding in Vegas. The Stratosphere has a package for about $10,000 which is the budget range we want to stay in. The package is 3 hours and includes the ceremony, cocktail hour with passed h’orderves and open bar and a cake. We can add the reception for extra money but are wondering if it’s necessary. My family isn’t big on dancing and partying. We are thinking we can just get a party bus for our bridal party and the “younger” members of the group and bar hop around. But not sure if that’s acceptable or not.

That was my favorite one! So pretty. I picked Wedgewood Las Vegas. It has a beautiful mountain backdrop- which I love. And it's all-inclusive for pretty cheap, so I'm overall pretty happy! Your pictures are going to turn out amazing.

Do what you want. I think it is perfectly acceptable to do that. If people your invitees are upset because there isn't a full meal- then oh well. I'm just doing cake, people can join us for dinner if they want on their own dime. The day is about me and my future husband- not what my friends and family expect. This is also another reason why I did Vegas instead of locally, my thought is those that want to be there will, for us- not what they are getting.

Hi Tammy,
I am currently looking at Valley of the falls for my wedding. How did you end up liking your wedding there? The only thing i am concerned about is that it is near the street and I was wondering if you could hear noise from the street.
