Valet costs?

My Venue has free self parking or $9 valet. I feel like since guests have the option of free self parking then valet should be on them if they choose to go that route. Is this fair? We really won't have that many people driving. Many of our guests are coming from NYC and will be taking public transportation. Many others will be staying at the hotel which is within walking distance of the venue. Given this, there won't be that many people parking to begin with. In the grand scheme of things it won't be that large of a cost so should we just cover this?

OK fair enough. I guess my thought was it was one thing if Valet was the only option but since they can do free self parking that might make it different. But I hear you that this should be covered regardless. Thanks!

Is it a flat fee or do you pay per person who uses valet? I know I prefer to park myself, and many or all of your guests may feel that way, too.

We had the option of valet parking yesterday and DH didn't want it. He prefers parking himself. Growing up in a small town I had the chance to use it. If I was by myself I definitely would have.

Since they have the option of free self parking, you are under no obligation to pay for them to choose to valet
