Vaca as Renewal Gift

Nefetera, on June 2, 2020 at 1:47 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

Hey All

Im really worried that our vacation is next week and we will be going to Puerto Rico San Juan. The vacation is only for a few days and it was booked by my family as a gift to us. They didn't place insurances on it,however expedia is allowing them to do three things:

1. Cancel Trip and re-book for a later day

2. Cancel and gt refund but time to receive their refund can take 45 days or longer (one of my family member no longer uses the card that he purchase and gather everyone money on; was purchase on )

3. We JUST GO!

We decided to go because it is a gift to us and for us to go for a few day to have a little fun.

PR is on Phase 2...

just more concern on the airplane the caution they will take besides wearing a mask...

Has any one flew recently ...like with DELTA?

Thank you

What exactly is Phase 2 in Puerto Rico? What are the restrictions, etc.? And where you live, is the state requiring weeks of quarantine once you return from international travel?

To be honest i think it would be better to reschedule it just because that trip you may be so extremely limited to do things you'd wanna do on a trip ya know? however if you're ok with just beaches and stuff, then that should be ok.

I would reschedule for a later date. A lot of resorts have closed all buffets and swim up bars. To me, it’s not worth missing out on the experience especially if you’re given the option to reschedule! We are going to try and reschedule our trip to October with hopes that everything is back to normal.

I would check out the current travel advisory for Puerto Rico. We were going to honeymoon there in a few weeks but I cancelled last month because there is a curfew and read you may be asked to quarantine for 14 days.
I would reschedule for next year if able; otherwise, cancel and get a refund.

Definitely look at the travel advisory - all this as of May 26th:

-Restaurants open at 25% capacity only

-Small business and shopping centers open 9-5 at 50% capacity; no clothing try-on at stores

-Casinos - closed until further notice

-Beaches and golf courses - open for exercise only; no loitering permitted

-All tours closed until further notice

-Curfew from 7pm - 5am every day...tourists are not permitted to go out per the Mayor during curfew hours

-Fitness centers and spas at hotels closed until further notice

-Seek guidance from hotel regarding the pools and whether available

    I would postpone.

NY/NJ are still under a lot of restriction, and PR is only a little bit ahead of us. You won't be able to do that much, and if the worst happens and you get sick...

I would definitely reschedule. Even if things are comparatively better in Puerto Rico, the risk of travel is still high
