Okay y’all bear with me i know nothing about traditional weddings. I just found out i’m supposed to have ushers in the wedding. So my questions are
1. How many?
2. How do they walk the grandparents down3. Do they walk the grandpas down or just the grandmas 4. What about the Mother of the Groom?5. What do i do if my mom is a single mom?

I guess it depends on culture and custom. We have a person who welcomes the guest and tells them which side is for the bride and which side is for the groom, but usually your mother walks down the isle before you with either your brother or another male from your family. Your grandmother usually walks with if you have another brother him or an uncle from your family. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

You really don't need to have ushers. I have honestly never been to a wedding with ushers, and I'd say that all the weddings I've been to have been quite traditional.

Ushers aren't a requirement, I've never been to a wedding with ushers. If grandparents are walking down the aisle, the couples can either walk together or be escorted by another family member (which you could call ushers if you really wanted to). Mother of the groom is being walked down by FH (she's divorced from FH's dad).

Typically I’ve seen 2 ushers, but I’ve seen as many as 4. And I’ve always seen the groom, not the ushers, walk the grandparents and parents down the aisle.

We're having 2 ushers. One is my cousin and one is my uncle.

They're just going to show people where to go. We needed ushers because our venue is a little confusing to navigate so we wanted to make sure everyone found the chapel correctly and got seated!

Ushers can seat anyone! I've never seen them walk people down the aisle though! I've only ever seen them escort people to their seats and open doors Smiley smile

If you need someone to walk individuals down the aisle, could the groom do it? Or if you have siblings, could one of your siblings walk your mother down the aisle? Our friends got married a couple years ago and his sister walked with his father down the aisle!

We didn't have ushers, it's not something you need. I have been to one where they escort everyone down the aisles, but there is still a separate processional for the important people (grandparents/parents). Your grandparents can walk down together. My step mom was escorted by my step brother. If you have a brother or if she has a brother. You can really ask anyone. If you don't want a super formal wedding, I would say to skip the ushers to not put the added pressure on yourself.
