Usher/greeter Proposal

Tasha, on May 25, 2020 at 8:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
Hi, guys! So, I’m wondering how people have asked ushers/greeters/etc. to be a part of the wedding. Did you do a “proposal” like you would with your bridesmaids and groomsmen? Any ideas/suggestions are welcome!

Many groomsmen do double duty as ushers. But if you want kids or whoever doing the job, most people ask as a regular conversation without a fancy gift box. Do what works for you.

We’re just doing small personalized gifts, as we wanted a little something besides just a conversation. For example, one of our ushers loves Captain Morgan & on their website, you can personalize labels; so we ordered a custom label ($7 ish) that we’ll put on a bottle of captain when we ask him!

We had two friends as ushers, and my husband just called and asked them! Smiley laugh

Just like asking your wedding party - it can be as simple or elaborate as you want! I think it also depends on who you're asking and your relationship to them (I'd definitely do something cute for younger kids!) There are some good ideas and examples in these posts as well:

I would do something smaller scale, like a bottle of wine. It shows appreciation, but not over the top since the role of an usher is not a time-consuming role.
