Usher Attire

We are having four ushers and I was planning on just having them wear dress pants and a shirt and tie. Do all of the ushers need to be wearing the same thing? And should they also get boutiners?

I don’t think they have to wear the same thing but should have a similar look (ex. all in blazers or no blazers at all). My FBIL had 4 ushers at his wedding and they all wore something different that they already owned. They wore a shirt, tie, pants and blazer/suit jacket but nothing matched or was the same exact color/pattern.
He got his ushers boutonnières but I think it’s personal preference. If you get your ushers boutonnières I feel like they should also be wearing a blazer/suit jacket. I personally wouldn’t like the look of a boutonnière just pinned to a shirt.

We had four ushers that all wore black tuxes (groom and groomsmen were also in tuxes, it was a more formal wedding). Two of them already owned tuxes and two rented from the same place as the groomsmen. We wanted to get them boutonnieres so it was clear that they were part of the wedding party and not just dressed-up guests!
