Uplighting diy

Erika, on July 29, 2020 at 8:13 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
Hey everyone! So thanks to some past posts I found a site where I can rent uplighting for less than half the price of what my DJ company wanted. My question is, how do you determine how many lights you need? The DJ price included 10, but I have no idea if that's a lot or a little. I honestly wasn't sure what uplighting was until a month ago 🤦‍♀️ If anyone has any insight, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

From the various photo galleries online I have seen, they show djs using 2 lights per spot, but they dont look that bright.

You should contact your venue to find out how many they suggest or how many they've seen used before.

Yes. They can not only talk what looks good, but practicalities. Some up lights are battery op, other plug into cables or outlets. And depending on whether the lights are small cans or larger theatrical sizes, numbers will change. Their information should help a lot.

Ask the company. I could imagine at least six (three on two opposing walls), and maybe 1-3 others? Hard to know without knowing your venue size and layout.

P.S. We rented cordless uplights from RentMyWedding (free shipping both ways)! Easy set-up and return.

I would make sure you’re getting battery operated ones. Otherwise you have to deal with extension cables and finding enough outlets. Also think about who’s going to set them up, focus them, and make sure they’re turned on for the reception.
