I received a verbal offer with the promise of official offer Monday morning. I didn't receive it so emailed Tuesday at noon just to follow up. Haven't received a response. I know people are busy & things get delayed but why wouldn't someone just send back "Sorry, we are still waiting on X!"..... are...

I know people are busy & things get delayed but why wouldn't someone just send back "Sorry, we are still waiting on X!"..... are there rules preventing HR/Recruiters from conversing with the offer-ee in certain situations? This has happened to me others times too.

I don't want to be "needy" but this job would involve selling my house and moving so I'd like to see the details as soon as possible so I can make a decision. Do I email another person in HR? My would-be manager? Do I keep waiting? Is it needy if I email someone else?

Oh this is all true... thank you guys. You've made me feel so much better. I know I am overthinking everything but I was crying last night thinking they don't want me any more, and I got really excited and started looking at apartments and now it's all down the toilet.

Argh, my poor poor DH. Well, he's stuck with me now Smiley smile

I kept thinking, omg, they found out I am looking at apartments and probably think it's premature and I am crazy

Usually the formal offer needs to be signed by the head of your company. That can take a few days with them being out of the office and such. I would give it until Friday and then email again.

No don't crySmiley sad I wish I could say the employment recruiting process is fast and quick. But usually it can be a lengthy process and have some people on edge ( from phone calls I used to get from future employees) which I understand. I have had to wait 2 weeks to almost a month to finally start working at some jobs. Give us a follow up once everything goes through! Wishing you the best of luck and rooting for youSmiley smile

    UPDATE!

I called her this morning an left a message. I just told her, "Good morning, This is X. I know you are probably busy but I was just wondering if I could get an update on the offer process, I am still very excited about the role and appreciate your time working with me. My number is xxx-xxx-xxxx!"

She just called me back and said "we do really want you, we are just waiting on a couple remaining signatures and it's been really hard to track the individuals down".

OK I want to cry happy tears now. WHY am I so emotional?!

I think this whole thing really made me realize I really do want it. I was on the fence about moving and starting over, and there are still a few things like selling our home, but ultimately, I want it. If I didn't. I wouldn't care if they got back to me.

Side note: I thought about asking my current company for a counter offer. My manager really wants me to stay (yes he knows i was interview, a lot of stuff went down with upper management that I don't like. My manager is a good guy). but I just don't think it would go well. More money won't make me happy or satisfied. I really love my team and manger and hate to leave them. But they make a job that turned crappy, still good. When I started here I 100% loved it. But now... not so much.
