Update: Silicone Temptu Airbrush Makeup Opinions/Experiences?

Athena, on March 28, 2015 at 11:52 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Trying to find makeup for the wedding day and found one artist that does airbrush. I heard if you need to touch-up your makeup during the night airbrush isn't good, but they also said touching up really isn't necessary. Anyone have experience with airbrush makeup/how long does it last and how does it hold up with an oily t zone and large pores?

Updated: The MUA uses temptu silicone makeup if anyone has experience with that!

I did airbrush! It held up really well all day in the 85 degree Florida heat. I have bad, acne scarred skin and airbrush made me look flawless. I paid a lot for it, but it was worth every penny.

KM are there different types of products that make a difference with airbrush? If so what did you use? This makes me feel so much better about this!

Uhhh...I would have to ask my makeup artist what brand she used. I know that it was water based, which goes on lighter than silicone based, but still covers really well

I've got a similar skin type and I've been wondering about airbrush too!

I went to a wedding 2 years ago where it hit 110 degrees!! But it was mainly just 95-100 lol The bride and her BMs looked absolutely flawless throughout in their airbrush makeup, while all the guests were wilting (and looked like it). I can't wait to see how it feels at my trial! My MUA uses AirFlash by Dior...not sure if it's silicone or not

As a bm we had airbrushed foundation applied. I have acne prone skin. I thought it looked strange. Caked on. I didn't care for it. I don't wear much make up usually and hated it. I ended up washing it off and reapplying my own bareminerals before the ceremony. But I had zero experience with these people before hand. It would be different with a trial situation. I don't know if it was silicone or not.

I had doubts about airbrush, so I did a makeup trial, and I'll definitely be doing it for my wedding day! My skin is typically pretty clear (when I do break out, it's hormonal), but very, very sensitive. Airbrush made my skin look flawless. It didn't budge at all over 10+ hours. If you do need to touch it up, you just pat on a little powder vs. using a blush to apply it (at least that's what my MUA told me).

I love airbrush! I'm not sure the brand my MUA uses but for long events my whole family swears by it - my sister, my mom & I all prefer it. The first time it felt a little funny, but when I saw photographs I was sold. It looks great in pictures and now that I'm used to it I'm obsessed.

I use Temptu Silicone Based airbrush foundation for most of the weddings I do. I do the majority of my weddings in Florida so it holds up well.

Silicone based makeup is essentially water-resistant. I also apply a waterproof sealer to lock in the makeup and keep it from fading or sweating away. Silicone based makeup will provide a dewy, more skin like finish whereas, water based makeup ends up with a matte like finish.

Airbrush is just another form of makeup application and for less seasoned artists, it makes it easier to get a flawless finish. An experienced artist can achieve the same flawless result by using a brush or sponge.

You are still able to touch up if needed as long as your artist shows you the proper way to do so. You need to blot, not swipe over the skin.

So to wrap it up, airbrush makeup is technically no different than traditional makeup as the end result lies within the artist applying the makeup. You can have a great airbrush makeup and a terrible one. Just depends on the skill and experience of your makeup artist.

The following photos are both airbrush makeup and traditional makeup. It's difficult to tell the difference.

I work part time at a salon and we use Temptu Silicone-based airbrush. 90% of the brides we do request airbrush makeup over regular, and they love it. It lasts all day--even in the Georgia summer heat. One of the girls did my makeup just for fun one day and used the Temptu airbrush and I loved it---it didn't feel cakey or heavy at all, and it lasted all day. I definitely recommend it!
