So... fun update!

I had a dress that I just couldn't get comfortable with... I tried, I dressed up - did makeup - bought a veil... Talked myself back into it a few times and the feeling that something was wrong kept trying different things. I tried it on so often that I cut my shin on the stool that I used to see the full length in my mirror. Still, I hung in there with the dress. But, I never settled into it being my dress or the one. I just didn't know why...

I shared all this with my fiance this weekend. He told me that I got the dress at a great deal - but if it wasn't the one then I needed to look at others. I went yesterday, left disappointed, then came home and recommitted to the dress I have here again. This morning, I gave it another go, to make it my dress - sexy pose, different lighting to catch the highlights, etc ... I added the veil and crossed my fingers. Then I showed my sons. One shrugged and the other simply said so that's what a wedding dress looks like -and then they went back to their video games. I decided to go look at other dresses again.

I went out this morning and went to a salon where I tried on dresses months ago. This is the dress, I loved from this morning.

I loved it - everything about it. It was even on sale. The neckline is to die for - the back divine - it's stunning. And omg the lace ... But ... I had a dress at home. I took pictures and told the salon that I needed to think and went home to show my sons the photo. Both said unanimously to get the new dress. I asked them why? Neither of them could explain it. Then my youngest said, it looks like you - the other one looks like you borrowed it from someone else. That made perfect sense! It didn't feel like my dress because it wasn't my dress! ... But, was the new one mine?

My youngest asked to see it. So, I took him to see the dress in person. The minute the door opened his little jaw quivered and he softly whispered - "Mom, you're really getting married..." It was almost as if it all became real for him. Then he helped pick shoes for me and a necklace. He had me try accessories on and the young girl helping me was having a blast... And then I bought the dress above.

While the home dress did some things for my figure - but the one above did something magic for my heart. That's my dress... not the one at home. It's the one that made my son realize that his dreams of a family and bonus dad came true.

You really do know when you've found your dress - and yes, he thinks the tulle under it should be removed to keep it soft and "flowy." Smiley heart
