Upbeat song for bridal party processional?

LanaKane, on October 19, 2017 at 10:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Would it be odd to have an upbeat song rather than something with a slow tempo for the bridal party processional?

Nope not weird, just depends on the feel you are going for. Just make sure you walk slow enough that the photographer has enough time to capture some pictures!

We did First Day of My Life. Kinda mid-tempo.

I wanted upbeat for every song in the processional - I wanted my ceremony to have a happy upbeat feeling.

Officiant/Groomsmen/Mother of Groom and Groom: You Make My Dreams Come True - Hall &Oates

Ring Bearer/Flower Girls/Bridesmaids - This Kiss - Faith Hill (Vitamin String Quartet Version)

Bride - Just the Way You Are - Bruno Mars (Vitamin String Quartet Version)

It was great, my husband shimmied and bopped down the aisle, I chose the BM's song because my sisters love it and it avoided the whole slow somber walk down the aisle issue. I could hear people laughing and clapping while I was waiting to walk out.

It really lightened everyone up and put everyone in the bridal party at ease instead of freezing up with formality I think. Def recommend!

Went to a wedding earlier this year that rick-rolled the wedding march into something else. They used Somewhere Over the Rainbow for the family and something upbeat for the bridal party.
