Unwanted facial hair

Clarissa, on March 13, 2017 at 10:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Looking for advice on how to get rid of unwanted facial hair (above my lip) I've tried a Nair product but leaves a rash. Need it gone for engagement pictures! Thank you!

Have you tried waxing it? Hand and stone massage uses a soy based wax and it doesn't leave a rash or anything.

    You can wax or pluck

I haven't tried waxing. I've heard you have to go back often. Is that true?

Not too often especially if you pluck as it starts to fill back in. But that way you are getting the hair at the roots so you can't get a much longer lasting unless you did laser hair removal!

It depends on how fast your hair grows I know someone that waxes every 2 weeks and someone else that does 1 a month

If you wax, make sure you try it well before the pictures for the first time. When I tried it, it turned out I was allergic to the wax, and my face looked awful for over a week.

Personally, I recommend laser hair removal - it's expensive, but it leaves much longer-lasting results, in many cases permanent.

Wax. Quick and good results. Do it a few days before pics though.

I wax everything. I go to European Wax Center and my hair has grown back thinner. I love it.

Waxing or threading. Coloring it doesn't make the hair go away so I don't understand that logic. I do threading and it lasts me 3 weeks, waxing about 2 weeks but I have hair that grows fast. A friend goes once a month so it really depends on your hair growth.

This is kind of an unpopular thing for women but I use an eyebrow shaping razor for my upper lip hair. The razor is only a few bucks and I just have to touch up every other week

Thank you everyone! I'll definitely look into waxing. I did think about bleaching it because mine grows back so fast. But maybe it's not the best option.

Have you heard of sugaring? It removes the actual follicles & eventually the hair stops growing back. Smiley smile

@future381swife Yes! I couldn't think of the name of the wax! I love it! Just make sure you aren't using any acne cream. It can tear the skin.

@Brittany no I haven't. Do you get scars from it? Expensive?

Wax. If you start now by the time your wedding comes around it should be thinner. I do my upper lip about every 6 weeks. It does cause any junk I have hiding under there to come out and get some pimples so I would do it a week before your wedding.

On the same lines as waxing, check to see if you have a salon that does sugaring. It is much easier on your skin than waxing, since it is not heated.
