Untraditional bouquet & garter toss ideas. Please:)

I like the card under the seat idea, but unless you have a bunch of silly young single guys, it might be hard to get people to participate in a hide-and-seek game.

Maybe give all the guys a ticket & raffle it off during the reception? Like how they pull lotto numbers one at a time?

We have very childish men in both family's! Lol the woman call them the big boys cause as an adult they just don't fit well in life. I love the raffle idea though! It's really odd because we have to marry the day before our reception. My mother and his mother both have terminal illness. It's just too much in one day for them to handle so we decided on two seperate days for them to rest up. That's why most of the wedding isnt traditional. Pies instead of cakes, pavilion and picnic bench seating with no seating chart but I still want some of the fun perks! Lol

I'm so sorry about both your moms! That's sweet of you to do things differently for them though, and if you have the silly people who will participate, by all means, play hide-and-seek!

My FH will be wrapping the garter around a small basketball (his favorite sport!) with our wedding date and initials on it and throwing it that way... Not different much, but a little personal touch!

If FH liked football we'd be doing that as well! But he doesn't so we most likely will be throwing them from a balcony, I might leave my bouquet on my sweetheart table with my garter just for show until the very end-- haven't decided!

FH hates sports.. Penguins hockey he watches but that is it (not enough to incorporate it). I

I think we may do an "anniversary dance" for the bouquet (have all the married couples dance to a song, and at the end the couple who has been married the longest gets the bouquet). and the traditional garter toss.

What about a game of hot-potato? The last one holding it when the music goes off is the next one to marry. :-)

Kelly I LOVE that idea! I may actually use that! FH said that he wanted to a chugging contest lol. Which is possible but I love your idea! None of our friends or family are big drinkers, so honestly a chugging contest would be a task lol. I just don't like the promotion of getting drunk ha

@Katelyn G. Your post really had me thinking about games. This just popped into my mind. I'm glad you like the idea. I thought it would be fun and different. Who knows we may start a new trend. :-)

Yes I deff wanted a game! We're so laid back and what men don't like playing games!? I think it is a great trend to start!

J love the hot potato idea for the guys. I think all the men would let it hit the floor if they had a choice whether to catch the garter! Lol

Here is a fun idea I incorporate into weddings.for my couples.

You will need the chair that the bride sits on to be covered. Without the bride knowing you hide items under the chair that can be used to catch the garter later. A glove, paddle, velcro mit, tennis racket, snow mit etc. Groom goes under dress to get garter but first starts to pull items out.from under dress (oh the laughs), then garter. When its time to throw the garter give items out to men to use to catch garter.
