We had to postpone our July 2020 wedding to July 2021 due to coronavirus. All of our vendors have been extremely responsive in telling us policies and confirming the new date, except for our photographer.
I reached out to the photographer by text in early April to explore what their policy would be in the event we decided to postpone. He said he's sending an email out to July couples by April 30. Ok, I waited. Didn't hear anything so I called him a few times early May to get in touch with him. Went to voicemail. I texted him one of those times, and he has his read receipts on so I could tell he read it, but didn't respond. I called him a few days later and finally got in touch with him. Told me his phone fell in a lake, and he said to just give him the date we decide on and he'll let us know if he's available. That was weird to me, since I was worried there might end up being more back and forth if he's not available, but tbh I was just happy I got in touch with him.
Anyway, I email him May 13 after confirming our new date with the venue. No response. He sends an email out to all of his clients with a questionnaire on May 19, we responded immediately with our new information. No response. Followed up a week later. No response. I followed up this weekend again, and he finally got back to my original email saying that there was a company wide email glitch and the new date works. No new contract or anything. It seems his other clients have also had similar experiences.
All of this has been extremely unprofessional and I do not feel comfortable moving forward with him. However, we paid him in full and our contract says refunds will only be processed 60 days before the date (which on the contract is still July 2020).
Any thoughts on what my options might be?
