An unplugged ceremony is one where guests are asked to turn off their electronic devices. The purpose of this is to allow guests to be fully present and ensure that the photographer and videographer don't miss special moments.

Some couples are insistent on this practice while others don't really care. Where do you stand? Will you have an unplugged ceremony? Why or why not?

We won’t have a sign. I am using the website Joy for my wedding website and my RSVP is on there. Guests will be required to give a phone # with the RSVP and it will actually text them 10 minutes prior to the ceremony asking them to silence and put away all devices 😀

I just went to a wedding and everyone was taking pictures and I was nervous to do it because I was worried I would be in the way of other people trying to take pictures or the actual photographer. I personally would want an unplugged ceremony, take pictures before and after lol.

I like this idea of sending a text to silence your cellphone.

We wrote it on our programs but didn't say anything. Also we got lots of photos and videos of our ceremony so it's not the worst thing in the world. As long as the guests phones weren't in people's faces in photographs. We also had a few family members that weren't able to make it and my cousin called them in (grandma, aunts and uncles, cousins) during our ceremony so they could witness.

Yes!! That’s part of why I decided to go with that wedding site because it has really good features as far as the RSVP and guest contact

We are having an unplugged ceremony. We are asking our officiant to say a few words before the ceremony. We have hired a professional photographer and we invited our guest for them to enjoy not to work.

We want our guests to sit back and enjoy the ceremony. It's good to unplug especially for such a joyous occasion.

We’re having an unplugged ceremony! I don’t want anyone getting in the way of the photographer and videographer and don’t want people’s phones in our pictures. We got this sign to put right outside our ceremony space and will probably have our pastors say something at the beginning of the ceremony.

Meaning we don't want our guests to think that they need to take pictures, video, etc. That's why we hired a photographer.
