Unknown Gift Received

Our wedding was on Saturday and we received a very nice oscillating fan from our registry from an unknown guest. There wasn’t a card or matching wrapping paper with any other gifts.... Unfortunately, there were about 10 guests we didn’t receive cards or gifts from, so process of elimination didn’t go very far for us. I’ve already asked the 3 people I really thought it was from, but they all said they didn’t get it and don’t know who it was from. Any advice on how to properly thank the person who got this gift without making everyone feel bad for not getting us anything?

Is your registry online? Some places, if the guest bought the item online, it will give you a section telling you who bought what.

It was from Target. There isn’t a way to check who it’s from online (that I have found anyway). Do you know if they would be able to look it up at the store?

They might be. I don't have a target registry so I don't know all the ins and outs of it. I'm sure someone else here might know. Or just give the store a call/visit the store and they can tell you.

I had this happen through both Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy's -- for both stores i just emailed customer service with our registry number and the item number and they were able to tell me who bought it!

I had a mystery gift arrive from bed bath & beyond, I just called them up, gave them the order number on the packing sheet, and they were able to tell me who sent it. Most stores should be able to do that if you tell them it's a wedding gift and you need to know who to thank.

I am gonna keep that in mind - my BBB registry has the Thank You section where I can find out who bought what , but some people choose to be anonymous, which would potentially be a problem.
Sorry OP - I would try to call the store and see if they can track a receipt and stuff.
