Hello!! I'm looking for unity alternatives. We're not fans of the candles, rope tying, or sand. Any suggestions on any other alternatives??? TIASmiley smile

I've heard of a tree planting ceremony! Also think locking away love letters to open on milestone anniversaries is romantic!

We're doing paint pour over the letter Q which will be the first letter our our married last name. I've seen some people use a paint brunch and paint a heart. One side with one color and the other side with another to make a full heart. I've seen other people just use a blank canvas and pour the two colors over it.

I've also seen people mix two different wines.
Supper crazy one, but I've also seen people make a unity sandwich!!!

We are just doing a poem. I mean if someone wants a unity part that’s fine but you don’t have to have one.

We did a small puzzle with each of our names on a piece. It took only a minute to put together and has a nice stand. It is really beautiful in person, too! Found it on Etsy... Sander Specialties I think.

Look up love lock ceremony. That's what we are doing. It's so sweet and not something I've seen before. Hope you like it!

I would love to do the pouring of glass. Since we are a large blended family (9), it’s out of the price range I’m willing to pay but it’s so beautiful. It’s called Unity in Glass. So I may have to settle for the sand pouring. If I win the lottery though (Hahahaha) then I will be pouring the glass.

Were doing a wine ceremony where were sealing a bottle of wine in a box as well as Some love letters and small momentos to be opened in 10 years. Theres another one we saw where you make your own whiskey in a cask and seal it up

We're going to be a blended family (only 3 though), but I think we're going to do a painting. Probably just a blank canvas and we each will have a color. I am hoping to have colors that compliment each other or shades of the wedding colors. I know 9 is a lot, but maybe everyone just puts a little bit so it's not chaotic? I wanted to do the glass, but it's not cheap!! I haven't discussed these ideas with my FH yet and since he's paying for almost everything, I'm giving him final say on anything that feels excessive. If, by some chance, he agrees to the glass ceremony, I think I'd like to get ornaments. That way when my future daughter is older, she can take one with her. Good luck winning the lottery! 😀

We are doing a “unity cocktail” we like to cook and host and make drinks so we are going to mix and drink a cocktail together and then we are going to have that same recipe as our signature drink for the night

Look up the Scottish/ Irish Oathing Stone ceremony. It's ancient and very meaningful.

Fh and I are actually going to do a hand fasting instead of the traditional unity ceremony, I made our own cord for hand fasting that we can bring home and hang up somewhere

We’re a family of 4 foodies....my FH is an award winning grill master and has inspired & taught my oldest daughter to cook & they often share recipe ideas, etc. I’m the baker and the youngest daughter, she is the official taster, she is also a glass blower.
So we’re doing a spice blending. She is making the bottle and the 3 of us will be adding our favorite spice...I’m sugar, he’s his Cajun seasoning and daughter is basil.

I have been wondering what to do for the unity part of the cermony . I wasn’t crazy about the sand pouring or the candle lighting . Don’t get me wrong .. I don’t dislike them ... they just don’t feel right for us. I read your post and looked into it . I love the pouring of the glass!!!! That is a priceless piece . We are a blended family . We have actually been together 25 yrs . I would love to have the kids do this with us and each one have one . I only found 3 websites on it . Is there one you recommend or suggest ? I agree it is pricey , but it feels right . I also like the love lock, but this is my first choice . Thank you !!

We're going to stamp our hands with paint on a canvas. If you're a blended family it'd be cool to do too.
