Unity Song Length

Heather, on January 17, 2020 at 5:16 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 3
Hey everyone! We’re planning on doing the “chord of 3 strands” for our unity and I wanted one of my friends (who has a gorgeous voice) to sing “prayed for you” by Matt Stell during the unity. I’m sure we’ll have to cut the song but what’s an ideal timeframe for the unity?

I’m a musician, usually the unity is no more than 30 seconds but the strands usually take longer. Like maybe a few minutes. I would definitely recommend practicing before bc I’ve seen people get up there and they couldn’t do it and it took more than 5 minutes for them to sort of put it together. I would have your friend sing the whole song and if it’s too long just stand there and enjoy the moment.

We’re doing unity braid as well. Since my fiancé as no clue on where to start with a braid we are going to practice, a lot. Lol I’m guessing it’ll take a couple of minutes at least. I thought about budgeting about 5 minutes for the whole unity ceremony with the intro reading and the braiding combined.
