Unity Sand Ceremony - Mason Jars

Has anyone done a sand ceremony with mason jars? I can't help but visualize pouring sand all over the table or bumping jars if we do this but I really love the personalized mason jars! Just wondering if anyone has used them and if the ceremony was successful?

Only fixes I can think of is trading off the pouring of the sand.... darn you Type A..

My mom did it for me and my "step family" and we used a nice spoon she bought and had engraved, and spooned the sand into more of an urn than a mason jar. But she loves it and it was a neat idea. We were all age 10-16 and we didn't make a mess

I did a tree planting ceremony instead of sand, but I had the same concern about dirt getting everywhere or the plant tipping over.
What helped me was to just take it slow and make sure I was fully paying attention to what I was doing. It went over fine.
Perhaps a funnel would help for the sand?
