Unity Candle / Scripture Readings

HopeRebecca, on October 9, 2013 at 3:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

I need help deciding on a short song for the unity candle - any suggestions? Also, did you have anyone sing or just use a recording?

We've picked out our scriptures but should we have someone read or just have the ministers do it, I'm at the point of planning that I'm so indecisive and over making decisions Smiley smile

I like One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story. The words to that are beautiful.

One hand is gorgeous, but usually the candle lighting doesn't have music (at least mine don't) because I talk, the couple lights, there really isn't time.

As for readings; either a guest or your minister is fine; if you have friends who couldn't be part of the bridal party, it's a great way to include them.

We aren't doing a unity candle, but my uncle is singing and playing acoustic guitar. he's singing "god bless the broken road".

my minister is also doing all scriptural readings.

We aren't doing a unity candle we are doing a unity tree, i think we will need music for that since it will take about a minute. Our preacher is doing all the readings.

WE are doing the Sand Ceremony - I'm not sure if we can have music but if we can we are going to use "When God Made You" - our pastor will read any scriptures that we have.
