Anyone else ever done a unity braid during the ceremony? I thought it was different and something we can hang instead of just sitting away and collecting dust.

I've not done it, but I've seen it done....we are considering it.
The wedding we went to, the preacher explained it as the couple braided. It was beautifully done.

We are doing it. And I agree. I wouldn't keep anything else that I saw so I figured we could hang it in the house. We DIY ours

@mydaughters we went to a wedding with a handmade wooden unity cross and it was awesome!

I like that! I wonder if the three strands could symbolize me, FH, and kids... since I kind of see the wedding as creating a new extension of family.

I really wanted to do it, but I thought the unity candle was more romantic and simple. FH and I could never braid something together. I can barely braid on my own.
