unique Processional song

FutureMRSwalker, on March 19, 2017 at 8:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 27

Hi there, just wondering if anyone is doing anything non-traditional for their walk down the asile.... i'm having a doozy of a time trying to find something that I like that FH doesn't hate. He loves heavy metal, and I love indie, but as you probably already know those types of songs just don't really flow for a processional song, maybe if I ran like a crazy person towards the altar?? lol

That would be a struggle. What about a classic like Elvis or Righteous Brothers. Could do Whitney Houston. I will always love you. Good luck.

Thank you for the ideas! @kendra we are actually exiting to the imperial march ! I'm leaning towards lana's new song Love, I love her music but most of it is pretty depressing/dark which isn't good for weddings

I thought about using instrumental versions of the songs we were choosing for the processional, but I realized I liked the feel of the original we picked for the BP so much that the parents and BP should just process to the originals. We picked "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole for the seating of the parents and grandparents and "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King for the BP.

I'm still using an instrumental song, though, when my dad walks me down the aisle. I picked the Piano Guys version of "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis.

It wounds really weird but I've had people use the theme from Forrest Gump, Can't help falling in love is the big hit right now, There's a place for us, from West Side Story. I walked down to the theme from Out of Africa.

Jessica- I really like that Ben Folds song, just still deciding on if I want all instrumental or not.

@Celia, I've been obsessed with the Feather Song from Forrest Gump, but I am using a string quartet and that song really needs a piano. So my new obsession is Can't Help Falling in Love. It can all change by next January, especially now that your saying it's so popular.

My wedding party will walk to the Chris Cornell cover of Zepplin's Thank You, and I'll walk to the instrumental intro of Tesla's Love Song. Took me forever to find a combo of two really cool songs that both worked together and sounded weddingy Smiley smile

For the party we had the theme from Undertale, a video game. For my entrance we did State of Grace by Liquid Tension Experiment. The latter is sweet but has electric guitar so he might like it?

D&G, my string quartet has done the Feather Theme for a few weddings. Obviously sounds a little different from a piano, but it works out really well. If you really want that one, you might consider asking your musicians if it's in their repertoire. If so, see if they can send you an audio sample.

My aunt is playing the piano at our ceremony. I'm having her play Lava from the Pixar short for the bridal party, You Are In Love by Taylor Swift as my entrance and we're walking out to Queen's You're My Best Friend. I just picked songs that were sentimental to FH and me.

So mine and FH music's tastes are similar to yours. However I Iucky enough that he doesn't care what ceremony music I choose. I will most likely be walking down to "see the light" from Tangled but a violin version.

@ Esperanza, Have your heard Haley Rienhart's version? Very similar to Ingrid Michaelson, but is better IMO

My bridal party and family are walking down to A Thousand Years by the Piano guys. It's so beautiful. I'm walking down to a more traditional song, Canon in D which will be the one that is played on piano and violin
