Unique engagement rings?!?

FutureMrsAF, on January 26, 2017 at 1:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 159

Let's see your unique engagement rings Smiley smile I just got engaged and FH got me a traditional Irish claddagh ring as his family is very Irish. This won't be the "real ring" as he has one that he is wanting to have custom made, but we are currently on a trip to Paris and he didn't want to miss the opportunity to propose here so he got me a "placeholder" ring, though I still love it more than anythingSmiley smile

This is mine, it is an antique opal ring with a diamond halo. It is my birthstone, and we are also getting married in October! I am going to have to wear my wedding band and e ring on separate hands because of its unique shape.

I guess it's a little less unique because morganite is becoming more popular. But I'm obsessed, I love it so much. And I get so many compliments on how different it is. And for the life of me, no pictures show how peach it really is.

I'm with @melissa with the less unique morganite. I love it and people go crazy over it when they notice.

My ring is pretty basic (diamond with double halo) but I'm just stopping by to say I really love your ring @Nicole!! Opals are GORGEOUS! :-)

Thank you, Future Mrs. Lott! :-) I love it so much. I was really afraid of everything I did with my hands at first, because opals are more delicate than diamonds...but they're still stones, and as long as I don't wear it to bed, in the shower, or punch any walls while wearing it, it will be fine. I do still need to bring it to a jeweler to have some prongs replaced, but for a 100 year old ring, I'd say it's in pretty good shape!

The side stones are rubies - my birthstone. I love the subtle pop of color.

Black diamond! I'm thinking I'll go with a black diamond band too. I just love the look of it!

@svg I LOVE your ring with the subtle rubies in it.... *swoon*. My mom gave me a similar ring for my birthday when I was younger with my birthstones in it -sapphires- they're so beautiful!

My ring is fairly traditional, but I love the angular square diamond and the sharp lines. I ordered a curved band and I can't wait to see the contrast... it's perfect for me and I love it!

Not sure if mine qualifies, the split band and shape around the stones has made it impossible to get another band that looks good with it, so I'm just keeping it as my wedding ring.

Mine's a round stone in a square setting. We designed it together to give a vintage art deco feel.

Mines a bit more simple than everyone else's but it is exactly what i would have picked out my FH surprised me and it was perfect! It has an older antique kind of feel to it which I love.

@Austi I don't know if your FH told you (or if you've already noticed) but your claddagh is facing the wrong way! The hands and heart face outward if your "heart is open/looking for love" or facing in if "your heart is closed and have found love". Just thought I would share if you didn't know!

The center stone is moissanite. I love it so much...ever since I started to look into rings and stumbled onto moissanite, I've loved everything about the stone. The halo and other small stones are diamonds, though. My FH got it exactly right. These pictures are from when I got my band and was trying it on!
