I'd love hear people share their unusual proposal stories. Before I proposed I went searching online for advice or stories about women proposing to men and I couldn't find much, mostly just comments like "don't do it" rather than suggestions about how to do it. I want to share my story in case it will inspire someone debating the same way I was to just go ahead with it! Please share your stories, I would love to here from everyone, not just hetero relationships, and hopefully others will get inspiration and the courage to do what their heart says
My partner and I have been together for 4 years, and have talked about marriage on and off for the last year. He knew I wasn't into jewelry and neither is he, we tossed around a few ideas but didn't follow up. Now, ever since I've known him he has wanted a cat. We've never lived somewhere that allowed a cat but I had a feeling our new landlady was open to it. I knew this would be the perfect way to propose to him! I asked our landlady in secret, telling her my plan and got permission. I contacted a couple shelters and filled out pet owner applications, then once I had a date to meet a cat I purchased pet supplies and hid them in my car. This process took a couple weeks and the whole time I was so nervous about how my partner would react. I called his parents and formally asked permission to join their family and they were super excited! I met the cutest cat on the planet and adopted her on the spot, then brought her home, got down on one knee and proposed to my partner. He was shocked, but over the moon excited about both the cat and getting married! I was super relieved and we have both been enjoying planning our wedding which will be this August.
Meet Rebecca, the proposal cat!
