Union Candle question

Hi Ladies,

WHen does both mothers get up & light the two candles for the union candle thing? & can there be a song sung during that time?

Ps shes forcing me by control to have that in the ceremony when i don't what to have it on there in the 1st place! omg. & shes controlling my wedding. how do i get her to let me pick the music & not end up in a big fight?

    Usually when the mothers enter the venue they go up and light the two candles. You would probably have music playing at that point anyway.

    It probably depends on the ceremony also. can you ask your officiant? they should be able to tell you the order of events for the union candle.

    Most of the times we see the unity candle lit by the mothers when they enter the venue. Then the B&G light the candle right after you have both said your vows to each other. Frankly, I like the sand ceremony better and it gives you guys a keepsake to have. Just remember to walk behind the candle to light it so your photographer can actually see you in the photos and not just your back. If your having an outdoor wedding dont even bother with a candle. Although, some of the cutest pics we have done have been when the couple couldnt get the candle to light.
