Hello everyone!

So my FH is military and we are having the hardest time deciding if he should wear his dress blues or just a suit. I told him I want him to be comfortable, and ultimately it is his decision, but I can't help but overthink about it too! What do you guys think when you see a groom in his military dress uniform? If you had a FH in the military, or if you do, what is he wearing? I keep going back and forth between knowing that he earned it and it's an honor for him to wear it and also wanting him to be a "groom" in a traditional black suit/tux. Like I said, I'm leaving it completely up to him, but I just want to hear your opinions on the look of it and what you think from an outside point of view!

I love it, my FH is a Marine veteran. He’s out now so its not a choice for us, but if he was still in I’m pretty sure he’s want to wear them and I’d very much encourage it as I’m really proud of his service in the war and in general as a Marine. I’ve been to two other military weddings recently, both of them are lifers, one in the Marines and one in the Navy. They both wore their dress uniforms. In one app the gm except one we’re acrive duty in different branches so there was an array of uniforms.

My fiance has gone back and forth...and back and forth...on this. He ultimately decided to wear his dress blues...well dress blue whites? He's a staff NCO now so not sure what it's called with the all white pants, haha. For him, he's really proud of that uniform and he already owns it, haha. It was totally his decision but in my opinion -yes the military is his job and no I am not wearing one of the suits I wear to work each day, but 1. he wears cami's not his uniform 2. I don't sacrifice my life in order to earn them and like it or not (and let me tell you, I am marrying him DESPITE the military!) it is a large part of both of your lives! I have to say I LOVE the idea of changing after so he can really cut loose and feel relaxed, I'm going to see what he thinks about that!!!

Ok so dress blues is not a uniform. Well it is but what you wear for nice occasions. Secound they do. Or wear or for attention they wear it because of what it stands for. A military dress blues and your lab coat are not the same.

Tuxedos were actually modeled after military uniforms. It’s a sign of respect, not for attention.
