Uneven bridal party

Sarah, on September 4, 2019 at 9:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
My fiancé and I have uneven sides for a bridal Party. If it were up to me, I’d have a maid of honor and one bridesmaid, but he has a potential for a best man and 9 groomsmen. I have come up with 3 or 4 other girls to ask, but was wondering if anybody has had this problem? What are some roles that the men can play without being an actual groomsman?

Just have uneven sides. It’s highly unlikely that both halves of a couple will have the exact same number of close friends and that’s totally fine. You shouldn’t try to control your FH’s side of the wedding party anyway.

I have 7 girls and FH has 4 guys. It’s totally fine to be uneven. 😊

I second the ushers idea! Someone to walk grandmothers and mothers down the aisle if you plan on doing that for your processional. If you end up with 4 BM and 8GM, you could always double up with 2 GM per bridesmaid! Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with an uneven wedding party. We'll be having 3 BM and 2 GM Smiley smile

I had uneven! 10 girls and 5 guys. I had my flower girl and ring bearer (both older children) stand on his side to balance it out a bit. But truthfully I don’t think it looked uneven at all considering the guys are broader than the girls and we had them spread out a bit more. And for pictures we just kinda spread everyone out in both sides to make it even. Have whoever you all want with you! Don’t worry about how it may look.

Well several of our friends are mutual and I will be having some as my bridesmen. I love them and they LOVE the role they are super excited to take pics with me and be on my side 💕
it is totally fine if you have an uneven number. Really no one will really notice/ care.

I just am not great at making friendships with women but I have always had great guy friends (am a Tom-boy and many girls I grew up with HATED that about me). So it’s just personal preference on how many ppl you have.

This is why we chose to do MOH and BM only. I would have had 3 or so men on my side. Neither of us wanted the headache, anyway.

I would let him pick his own groomsmen and best man, and you keep your 3/4 people and just have an uneven party.

Some of the guys may need to Usher or otherwise participate.

I seriously wouldn't worry about uneven sides. It's not a big deal. You each get to pick your own bridal parties.
