Undergarments!

Jessica, on January 21, 2020 at 10:39 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 10

Hi brides!!

So, I picked out my dress - YAYYYYYY - and I'm wondering about suggested undergarments. I won't need a bra which I'm thrilled about, but I'm wondering what to do for undies type of thing. I hate hate hate hate having tons of layers on, so I want something thin, obviously nude so it doesn't show through, I'm not sure if I should just do like, a nude pair of silky undies or if I need like spanx or something? The goal is to avoid wedgies and smooth it out.

What does everyone recommend?

EDIT - here's my dress if that helps people.

Thanks!!

Really only you can decide if you need/want to wear Spanx or any other shapewear. Do you feel like you need to be sucked in or lifted in any certain areas?

I'm wearing spanx under my dress. The place I bought my dress from told me to wear a slip under my dress, they had me try my dress on with it in the salon and wanted me to buy one from them. One of my FSIL's told me to try spanx under my dress b/c she hated the slip she bought for her dress. I bought a pair from Target and tried in on with my dress when I went to get my dress bustled and it's so much better and WAY more comfortable.

My dress was not form fitting so I didn't need spanx or a bra! It was fantastic lol. I wore the type of underwear I always do (thong) in nude. I am not sure what your dress looks like but if it is not form fitting I don't see any reason to be in spanx.

No not really, more for a smoothing effect and no wedgies!

Hi Jennifer! Definitely not wearing a bra which I am SO happy about!! The dress is open back and it's snug enough that I won't need one. It's form fitting:

A slip! Omg I haven't heard of a slip in years! I think some smoothing spanx might definitely be the answer here.

OMG it's beautiful! If you feel like you need Spanx to smooth it out a little I would - but if you don't why add the extra layer?

Aw thank you! I love it! I may just buy knockoff ones on Amazon for like $15, try them on with it and if they make no difference, just return them or worse comes to worse I wasted $15 and not $50.
